A pharmacy lives and dies by its stock dates. Stocky POS keeps stock per batch, records each batch’s expiry date, sells the batch that expires first, and reports what is about to run out of date. You buy it once and run it on your own server.
Sell the batch that expires first
-
Batches and expiry per product
Turn batch tracking on for a product and every purchase line asks for a batch number and an expiry date. Stock is then kept per batch.
-
First expiry, first out
At the till, sales take from the batch that expires soonest, so older stock leaves the shelf first.
-
Expired stock stays out of sales
Expired or quarantined batches are skipped unless the user holds the permission to override, so a cashier cannot sell them by accident.
See what is about to expire
The Expiry report lists what expires in the coming days, by warehouse. The Batch Register and Batch History reports show where each batch went. Reports can be exported to Excel or PDF.
Know what to reorder
Each product has a stock alert quantity. Products that fall below it appear on the dashboard and in the Quantity Alerts report, so reordering does not wait for someone to notice an empty shelf.
Buy from suppliers and return what you cannot sell
- Purchases record the supplier, the cost, and the batch and expiry date of each line as stock arrives.
- Purchase returns work against the original purchase, with the supplier’s refund recorded the same way.
- Bulk import from CSV or Excel covers products, customers, suppliers, opening stock, purchases and sales, so you do not retype your catalogue.
At the counter
- A touch-first register with barcode scanning from USB or Bluetooth scanners, and camera scanning over HTTPS.
- Receipt printers and label printers. Label printing has five templates and can send straight to a TSPL printer over USB or the network.
- Split and multi-payment sales. A partial payment is saved with the balance on the customer’s ledger, and a customer with a credit limit cannot go past it.
- It keeps selling offline. Sales, payments and stock changes are queued on the device and synced when the connection returns.
More than one branch
Run unlimited warehouses with stock transfers between them and reports per warehouse. Create your own roles, and limit users to specific warehouses, so each branch sees its own stock.
Tax and invoicing
Tax rates are customisable, including grouped taxes such as CGST plus SGST, with reports by period. ZATCA e-invoicing for Saudi Arabia is built in at no extra cost. Double-entry accounting posts from your sales and purchases, and QuickBooks and Xero sync is available if you keep your books elsewhere.
Good to know. Stocky POS is general retail and inventory software with strong batch and expiry control. Its documentation does not list prescription management or a controlled-drug register. If your regulator requires those records, ask us before you buy and we will tell you what it covers.
What it costs
Stocky POS starts at $28, paid once. That includes the source code, free updates for life and 6 months of support. There is no per-branch or per-user fee. See all prices and what owning costs over five years.
Where it runs
Stocky POS needs PHP 8.2 or newer and MySQL or MariaDB. The camera scanner needs your site served over HTTPS. See the server requirements. If you would rather not set it up yourself, we offer a managed self-hosted service from $20 a month where we manage your installation.
Questions
Does it track expiry dates for every product?
You turn batch tracking on per product. From then on every purchase line for that product asks for a batch number and an expiry date, and stock is kept per batch.
Can it stop me selling expired stock?
Yes. Expired or quarantined batches are skipped at the till unless the user has the permission to override.
How do I find out what is about to expire?
Open the Expiry report. It lists what expires in the coming days by warehouse, and the Batch Register shows where each batch went.
Can it hold prescription records?
Its documentation does not list prescription management or a controlled-drug register, so ask us if your regulator requires them.
Can I run several pharmacies from one system?
Yes. Use unlimited warehouses with stock transfers and per-warehouse reports, and limit each user to the warehouses they work in.
Which licence does a pharmacy need?
Running your own pharmacy is one project of your own. The licence guide explains the Regular and Extended licences.
Can I try it first?
Yes. The Stocky POS page links to a live demo.
